Warm it Up, Embracing Wood Tones in the Bathroom

Warm mid-tone wood stains continue to see a resurgence in kitchens and home furnishings and likewise has found similar popularity in the bathroom space.  While white and neutral paints continue to be popular throughout cabinetry, homeowners and designers alike are finding inspiration from nature and bringing the warmth of natural colors indoors through the introduction of such warm finishes as Maple Rye and Cherry Amber.

Natural wood finishes are back, adding warmth and comfort, while bathrooms in 2024 emphasize functionality, design, and sustainability, with a focus on earth tones and accessibility," notes Designer Tracey Burrell, CKBD, CLIPP.  Burrell has closely been following kitchen and bath trends and it was no surprise when she saw warm stains on full display at this year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show hosted by the NKBA.

Whether through the subtle graining of maple or the more pronounced variation of cherry, golden hues bring character to the bathroom and help add dimension and texture while making a backdrop from which to hinge other finish pairings such as tiles, paint and wall treatments.

Looking to add an organic chic appeal to your home?  Start with any number of maple or cherry stains and lay the foundation from which to begin the perfect designer-inspired space with nods to nature.
