The Moline Project
The Molines tackled a challenging space to create the kitchen of their dreams, thanks to help from Lowe’s and Shenandoah.
About the Project
John and Melinda Moline are a young couple living in south Florida. Recently, they purchased their first home, a foreclosed bungalow that needed some TLC. “It was definitely a fixer-upper, “ says John. “But we could see the potential.” First on the list for renovation? “The kitchen!” says Melinda. “It’s right there when you walk in the front door, so we knew that was our starting point.” John and Melinda also knew that their kitchen would be the hub of their home, and one of the most important investments they could make.
“We gutted it,” says John. “There was nothing worth keeping.” The Molines headed to Lowe’s, where they worked with a kitchen designer to come up with the ideal solution for the space. “I can’t believe how much we were able to do by buying this through Lowe’s,” says John. “We got a semi-custom look for a very reasonable price.”
The couple chose McKinley cabinets from Shenandoah, a style that offers a nice balance of elegance and everyday practicality. “I love the cabinets,” adds Melinda. “They make such a great impression when you walk in the house, and they blend beautifully with the rest of our home. The style fits us perfectly.”
“We’re really happy with the outcome,” says John. “Now people walk in our home and are amazed at what we accomplished.”
