Green Manufacturing
We're reducing our carbon footprint one cabinet at a time
Sustainable Hardwood
All of our dimensioned hardwood comes from sustainable forests in the United States, primarily from the Appalachian Mountains. And we work with all of our suppliers to encourage sustainable forestry practices.
Local Service
The majority of the U.S. population lives within 500 miles of a Shenandoah assembly plant. This proximity requires less transportation fuel, resulting in lower concentrations of emission in the distribution cycle.
Supply Chain Efficiency
Shenandoah uses regional vendors, enabling us to consolidate shipping logistics and schedule minimal trips for installations.
Environmentally Responsible Stewardship
As a leading U.S. manufacturer of fine cabinetry, Shenandoah cabinetry, a division of American Woodmark Corporation, is committed to conducting business in a manner that both protects the environment and safeguards public health and safety. To achieve this end, the Company has implemented a Corporate Environmentally Responsible Stewardship Program that proactively identifies potential environmental risks and monitors compliance with appropriate federal, state, local and internal standards.
Shenandoah Cabinetry has received certification by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) Environmental Stewardship Program on all products. The certification was awarded based on compliance across a broad range of activity including air quality, product resource management, process resource management, environmental stewardship and community relations.
Shenandoah Cabinetry works with all suppliers to encourage sustainable forestry practices. Wood doors, drawer fronts and cabinet front frames are made from North American-grown hardwoods. Particle board and plywood are purchased from suppliers that meet the Composite Panel Association requirements for Environmentally Preferable Products including formaldehyde emissions that comply with ANSI Standards.
Shenandoah Cabinetry uses leading edge technologies to limit both hazardous and non-hazardous emissions, byproducts and waste. On-going, formal programs identify opportunities for recycling and reusing materials. When waste ultimately requires disposal, steps are taken to minimize the environmental impact.
Shenandoah Cabinetry is committed to improving the quality of life on a local level by participating in community projects and partnering with various charitable organizations through the American Woodmark Foundation.
Shenandoah Cabinetry is dedicated to doing our part in the preservation and sustainability of the environment.
